Right now, we are strengthening the Urbanears team with a Sourcing Manager who will work cross functionally between the product team and the sourcing team. As a Sourcing Manager, you will be part of the development of our new products, driving all sourcing activities from early cost estimate through to product launch. You will also work with our inhouse sourcing team to contribute to the continuous development of strategy and planning, supplier relationship and development, change management and ways of working.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for selecting and managing suppliers, with the goal to manufacture strong products with particular emphasis on specific commodities such as electronics, acoustics and sustainability. You will also work with the sourcing team to contribute to the continuous development of Urbanears sourcing strategy in terms of methodology and work processes.

Your main responsibility is to plan and execute the sourcing strategy for Urbanears together with relevant stakeholders.

• Finding the best partners/suppliers, based on our business goals and objectives for the overall brand roadmap
• Follow-up at the partners/suppliers the product development projects from start to end
• Drive a sustainable perspective across all our sourcing activities
• Contribute to Urbanears growth and development, driving continuous savings activities to add value to our bottom line
• Developing suppliers by setting goals, assessing performance and conducting business reviews
• Develop deep understanding of your sourcing area, technology trends, market forces, cost structure, vendor base and supplier roadmaps
  

You will develop and nurture supplier relationships in existing projects

• Managing agreements and negotiating commercial terms and conditions, from issuing RFI/RFQ’s to signed agreements for each new product
• Educate suppliers based on our quality and sustainability standards
• Collaborating closely, inspire and share sourcing knowledge with our product team in Stockholm, Sweden

Who we’re looking for

You’re business-oriented mind, have strong negotiation skills and are passionated about humanising technology. Being enthusiastic about Urbanears goal to make extraordinary yet simple products whilst reducing our impact on the planet is the mindset we live by. Working across functions requires the courage to challenge the status quo and be solution oriented. Having a cooperative mindset with a positive spirit, able to take initiative is fundamental at Zound. As we’re a global company, we see that you have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably another language.

You probably have the following experiences & skills

• Experience from a similar Sourcing and/or supplier relations position and are used to working with consumer electronics and plastic products.
• Good understanding of requirements for new product development of consumer electronics.
• Able to lead and manage projects towards our suppliers.
• Excellent ability to discuss and explain sourcing options and costs.
• Experience and knowledge on sustainable materials and components is beneficial.
• Business-oriented and able to provide practical and actionable advice with a flexible mindset.
• Ability to communicate solutions fluently in English, both spoken and written. Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
