Zound Industries launches self-charging sport headphones by adidas Headphones

The self-charging adidas RPT-02 SOL headphones are built in part from recycled plastics* and feature groundbreaking technology that converts all forms of light into battery life

Stockholm, 18 August 2022: Today, adidas Headphones and Zound Industries reveal the all new adidas RPT-02 SOL wireless headphones, the latest addition to the adidas Headphones line-up. Built in part from recycled plastics* and powered by light, the adidas RPT-02 SOL are self-charging sport headphones designed to endure the everyday challenges of an active lifestyle.

In partnership with Swedish solar technology innovators Exeger, the adidas RPT-02 SOL headband featuresExeger’s ground-breaking light cell material Powerfoyle™. The technology is designed to harvest energy from natural and artificial light, providing the headphones with plenty of playtime and the ability to charge on the go without the use of cables.

New and notable features of the adidas RPT-02 SOL include intuitive controls, which allow users to control their volume and song choices with ease while on the go. The headphones are also equipped with an innovative light indicator on the headband that helps to detect the strongest light possible for the best charge. Through the adidas Headphone app, users can track their charge and battery status in real-time. Sweat-proof and splash-proof as well, the adidas RPT-02 SOL’s IPX4-rated design handles the sweat from the toughest workouts.

*51% of the product consists of plastic of which 87% is post-consumer recycled PC-ABS and recycled nylon (excluding plastics in electronic components).
