Pernilla Ekman leaves as CEO for Zound Industries

The Board of Directors at Zound Industries today announced that Pernilla Ekman is to leave the position as CEO for the company. Pernilla Ekman was appointed CEO in October 2013 and was prior to that CFO since 2011.

”Since Pernilla joined Zound the company has shown considerable growth, from 250 million SEK to 2 billion SEK while being profitable. Pernilla has played an important role in scaling up Zound’s operations. The company now enters into a new phase and therefore it is time for renewed leadership. I want to thank her for the amazing journey we’ve made together, without Pernilla we wouldn’t be where we are today.” said Tommy Jacobson.

”I’ve had eight fantastic years at Zound and have been a part of an extraordinary journey. I want to thank the Board of Directors, the management team, our partners and above all, all the employees at Zound for this time.” said Pernilla Ekman.

”The owners and the Board of Directors have decided to suspend the exit plans and will instead focus on an updated plan for the company. The exit process which was initiated during the first half of 2019 is thereby discontinued. Shareholders who have signed the application form and the proxy for their shares, will receive the shares at the respective depository, and the proxies will be revoked.” said Tommy Jacobson.

Recruitment for a new CEO is underway. Martin Axhamre will remain as acting CEO until a new CEO has been appointed.
