Introducing Urbanears Boo – True wireless headphones made from recycled plastic, for a better sounding future
Swedish audio lifestyle brand Urbanears has introduced its first true wireless headphones made using at up to 97% recycled plastic. Available in two fits and three colourways, Urbanears Boo and Boo Tip boast a clean, minimalist design that also signifies the launch of the brand’s In The Making concept, and their bold first steps towards being fully circular and climate neutral by 2030.
Stockholm, April 12th – Finally a more eco-friendly headphone choice, Urbanears Boo are made using up to 97% recycled plastic and represent a new, more sustainable approach to headphone design. Available in two form factors – Boo and Boo Tip – the new designs are the first products born from Urbanears In The Making concept that puts development and sustainability at its core.
In The Making lives in every part of the Urbanears business, from design and production to sales, marketing and the day-to-day working of a global brand. The brand strives to make sure inclusivity, equality and transparency become second nature as the brand continues to grow, while providing help and inspiration to help other brands to do the same.
”With the industry failing to adapt to the global climate crisis, we owe it to our consumers to deliver more sustainable products that don’t compromise on performance or features. Urbanears Boo represents a first, but significant step on this journey, and I am convinced that this sustainability mission will contribute to a better sounding future for the audio electronics industry.” Emelie James, Sustainable Designer Manager at Zound Industries.
Urbanears Boo is characterised by a modern, minimalistic design and comes in three on-trend colours – Charcoal Black, Almost Green and Slightly Blue. Appreciating that no two consumers – or their ears – are alike, the headphones come in two different form factors. Urbanears Boo Tip features silicone tips (choose small, medium or large) that offer a snug, extremely secure fit with excellent passive noise isolation. But for those who don’t prefer the feeling of an in-ear tip, Urbanears Boo is an open fit version that lets the listener enjoy their content without completely blocking out their surroundings.
Urbanears Boo is a true wireless design for an active, versatile lifestyle and features 30 hour total playtime with five hours of listening per charge, IPX4 splash resistance, touch control, and a prolonged product lifetime thanks, in part, to an all new eco-charging update.
Urbanears Boo and Boo Tip are launching today, the 12th of April, at www.urbanears.com with the retail price of 79€.
